Posting Instagram and Facebook Stories

Schedule and post stories through the API

When creating social media content, ephemeral formats like Stories offer a highly engaging way to connect with audiences. With Post for Me, you can specifically target the Stories placement for both Instagram and Facebook by utilizing platform configurations.

Here is a breakdown of how to control your story content placement and handle media assets.

The Placement Configuration

The placement parameter dictates exactly where your media will appear on the target platform's ecosystem.

How it works:

When making a POST request to the /v1/social-posts endpoint, you can include a placement string within the specific platform's object (like instagram or facebook) inside your platform_configurations payload.

To publish a story, simply set the placement value to stories.

Handling Multiple Media Items

Publishing multiple media assets to a Story placement behaves differently than standard timeline carousels.

How it works

If you include multiple media items in your media array while using the stories placement, the system will automatically create individual posts for each distinct media item.

Note: because these are processed as individual story uploads, each media item will count separately toward your overall post limits
